Monte Christo Winery Chardonnay 2023, Central Otago

This new releases expression showcases a finesse and charm before the bouquet releases scents of white peach and lemon. There’s an emerging seam of barrel spice and blossom as the wine begins to open out on glass. Dry with plenty of weight and tautness of youth touch the palate first, then flavours of citrus and white fleshed fruits begin to emerge again framed by the structure of oak, minerality and grab of acidity. Youthful with best drinking from early to mid 2025 through 2032+.
