'The Mediator' by Urlar Pinot Noir 2020, Masterton, New Zealand

The bouquet showcases both variety, site and winemaking with scents of cherry and old strawberry with a savoury whole-bunch seam, dried rose and a crumbled stone earthy quality. As the wine opens out in glass so does the complexity with fresh red berry fruits and baking spices from some lees and oak use. On the palate, a dry wine with textures and fruit flavours center-stage, the fine unfiltered appearance showcases mouthfeel and fine polished tannins, core fruit flavours reflect the bouquet along with some baking spice and soft smoky oak qualities. Acidity pulls all of these attributes together leading to a lengthy, textured and delicious finish. best drinking from day of purchase through 2029.
