Nautilus 'Clay Hills Vineyard' Pinot Noir 2020, Marlborough

Earthy and mineral , complex and varietal bouquet. Aromas and flavours of clay and stone, soft dried herb qualities and a core of red berry and cherry fruits. The oak has a bold statement to make accentuated by the tannins and acid line, just needs some more cellar time to settle in and develop more. A dry wine with a whisper of gun flint, then baking spice and some earth smoke qualities. As the wine opens out in glass these flavours and texture begin to meld more. Lengthy finish, complex and offers best drinking from late 2025 through 2033.
