Matahiwi Estate Pinot Noir 2022, Wairarapa

Lovely complexity and intrigue within the bouquet, aromas of texture and brightness, then scents of dark cherry and baked strawberry, some wild plum and dried herb. There’s also a deep minerality of silt and sandstone like suggestions. Delicious, lighter-weighted expression as the wine touches the palate wit fine tannins and a refreshing acid line. Fruits flavours reflect the bouquet as does the earthy highlights and gentle dried herb qualities. Best drinking from late 2024 through 2030.
