Tantalus 'Voilé' Syrah Viognier Reserve 2019, Waiheke Island

A bright and lifted bouquet filled with scents of fresh cranberry and raspberry, black currant and wood spices. Dry, fleshy, fruity and varietal on the palate with flavours that reflect the core of fruits, some VA, then a mix of wood flavours and spices. Fine through firm tannins and a backbone of acidity set the structure firmly in place. Some herb notes and hay then back to fruit and spice. A wine I feel is best alongside food with best drinking from 2024 through 2029.
