Two Paddocks 'The Major General' Pinot Noir 2021, Central Otago

This is a four day wine - I mean that it should be tasted and enjoyed over 4 days so you can truly see and taste how excellent this wine is, how it evolves over this period and to offer an insight into the purity and detail within. Fine savoury and dried herb aromas are cushioned against a bouquet of purity of red berry fruits and earth, the use of oak is judicious and deliberate adding breadth and spice as well as complexity. As the wine touches the palate the texture and finesse from velvet tannins speak first, fine chalky, engaging. The core fruit flavours of cherry and fresh raspberry, some boysenberry and spice all fall into place. A taut and youthful wine that delivers of texture, concentration, complexity and finish. Best drinking from 2028 through 2038+.
