Carrick 'Magnetic' Pinot Noir 2021, Bannockburn, Central Otago

An immediate sense of place is captured in the bouquet with scents of soil and wild thyme, sage, fresh berries from black currant to cherry then dried raspberry. The oak and and earthy qualities combine to add complexity with the fruit and savoury ideas adding breadth. Delicious on the palate with an abundance of polished tannins delivery and fantastic mouthfeel, flavours of plum, raspberry and cherry fill out the mid palate, the oak adds complexity and breath. A lovely example, floral and fresh, taut and youthful. Best drinking from 2026 through 2036+.
