Agnese Vermouth Company Rosso NV, Hawkes Bay

A distinctive bouquet filled with myriad spices and fruits, anise and licorice, dried herbs and dried cherry, wild forest berries and a lick of pepper. Off-dry at the wine touches the palate then a burst of dried herbs and classic bitterness countered by fruits and alcohol. The finish is delicious, fresh, some fine tannins, a sense of black tea and spices. I recommend this on its own over ice or in a simple Negroni cocktail with a super neutral gin and less Campari than you would normally measure. Best drinking from 6:00 pm tonight.
