Passage Rock Reserve Syrah 2020, Waiheke Island

A complete bouquet with a core of black currant and licorice, roasted plums and barrel spices, some pepper qualities and sandy iron earth suggestions. Dry, firm and delicious on the palate, there’s tautness and power, contrasting flavours of ripe berry fruits and sweetness of wood. tannins have a rugged polish with acidity carrying a fine saline quality. Youthful still, well made and lengthy. Best enjoyed along side food including cheese from 2024 through 2029.
