Tony Bish 'Cynergy' Chardonnay 2021, Marlborough
A wine of clarity and precision with a bouquet of ripe citrus and pear, white peach then layers of lees and barrel spice. There’s just a whisper of flint accentuating the mineral quality with fine wet gravels and clay. Youthful and complex. A fine satin mouthfeel touches the palate first then a rush of cool-climate acidity before the flavours of citrus and stone fruits emerge. Fine tannins from fruit and barrel sit nicely with the lees-ferment and barrel spice flavours. A wine with precision, a lovely acid line and modern Chardonnay flavours finishing dry. Best drinking from late 2024 through 2029.
