Soft, ripe, pure fruited and floral, a bouquet that speaks of place then unfurls just a little to reveal core varietal scents of dark red berries, baked cherries and currants then wild flowers and soft clay earth idea. On the palate a wine of texture with polished chalky tannins and sweet acidity engaging the senses first. This is followed by flavours that reflect the bouquet, plus dried herb and a fine savoury spice, some smoky oak layers and youthful energy. Complex, taut and dry, lengthy and new. A wine best left in your cellar to develop and mature with best drinking from 2030 through 2040+.
