The Elder Pinot Noir 2019, Martinborough

A lovely bouquet and palate with a varietal core of baking spice-laced red berries and plum, blackcurrant and clove, red currant and vanilla, there’s a smoky toasty-barrel quality with dried herb layer. Dry with a youthful firmness, flavours of berries and currant reflect the bouquet. Firmish tannins still integrating, plenty of acidity and pinosity. A lovely example best suited to food with best drinking from 2024 through 2034.
