Scott Base Emperor Méthode Traditionnelle NV, Central Otago
A lovely bouquet and palate, there’s richness and concentration, a bold lees autolysis quality and a touch of minerality, even quartz-like suggestion. Expressive mousse with power and plenty of finesse, a moderately fine bubble, backbone of acidity and flavours of brioche and dry cracker, apple and peach, some old white strawberry and and a lengthy lees autolysis complexity. A delicious wine overall with best drinking from 2024 through 2030.
