Mount Brown Estates Riesling 2023, North Canterbury

An off-dry expression of Riesling with core flavours of white peach and red apple, there’s a lees and spice quality, and rounded silky texture enhanced by warming alcohol and a backbone of acidity pulling together all the flavours and textures. As the wine opens out in glass and on the palate additional flavours of grapefruit peel and honeysuckle begin to emerge. Youthful, fresh, bright and well made. A wine well suited to richly gently spiced dishes, Pork belly and flavourful savoury pastas or similar. There’s no mistaking the mouthfeel and warming side of this example. Best drinking from 2023 through 2029.
