Château Grand Corbin-Despagne Grand Cru Classe 2018, Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux, France

Complex aromas of dark berries and earth and stone then oak. Clove and dark spices, blackberries and roasted plums, some blue fruit then a touch of cassis and violet. There’s no mistaking the impact on the palate with textures from tannins and wood spices through dark berries and medium + acidity all voicing their presence. Some tobacco and soil complexities, iron and violets, some cassis and smoke. A wine of complexity and youthful intensity. Tannins are bold, youthful, ripe and up front, acidity is highish but easily comtrasted by the core of dark fruit flavours. Lovely length and complexity. Best drinking from 2025 through 2035+.
