Château Berliquet Grand Cru Classe 2016, St Emilion, Bordeaux, France

A classic bouquet of earthyness and violets, dark plums and blackberry, olive and baking spices of toasty barrel, leather and wood smoke. There’s bottle development aromas too with some dried leaves and tobacco scents. Dry, firm, youthful and taut textures on the palate with chewy tannins and medium+ acid line. Flavours of berries and leather, baking spice, plums and tobaccco return with an earthy core. Well made and quite delicious, firm and dry. Decant for service with best drinking from 2023 through 2030.
