Amisfield Pinot Noir 2020, Central Otago

Distinctive, varietal, earthy and mineral with a line of new French oak spice and barrel toast. Aromas and flavours include a classic Otago savouryness with bracken and crumbled stone outlined by dark cherry and fresh raspberry flesh, plum and then baking spices of vanilla and clove. Tannins add structure and plenty of mouthfeel as does the acidity. A wine still very youthful and dveeloping slowly, but also complex and lengthy. One for the cellar with best drinking from mid to late 2024 through 2034+.
