Craggy Range 'The Quarry' Gimblett Gravels Red Blend 2020, Hawke's Bay

Complex and new, barrel spices and fresh blackberry fruits core, tobacco, some wood smoke and dark plum. Fantastic on the palate with a raw energy, taut and muscular, firm and dry with a core of ripe fruit. An abundance of tannins with a firm chalky texture, acid line is just as big with the core of berry fruits tempering the stong foundation. Oak flavour are accentuated by the mouthfeel with a natural sweetness accentuated by the fruit. A fine wine that needs some time to integrate and harmonise. Very promising and very lengthy. Best drinking from 2025 through 2035+.
