Neck Of the Woods Chardonnay 2020, Central Otago
Pure, ripe and youthful with a mineral and citrus fruits laden bouquet. Aromas of ripe grapefruit and white peach, a cold river stone earthy quality, baked apple and quince. There’s a floral scent of mountain flowers while the oak shows a raw nut quality and is moderately intense. Youthful, taut and fresh as the wine touches the palate. Flavours of citrus and orchard fruits, oak spice and a silky texture. A dry wine with plenty of weight and poise, oak flavours include some baking spice and raw sugar sensations with fine tannins and acidity round out the mouthfeel. A complex and tasty wine with layers of mineral then fruit, oak and texture. Delicious and ready to drink from 2023 through 2030.
