Pyramid Valley Chardonnay 2019, North Canterbury
An enticing bouquet with layers of fruit and mineral then lees and moments of oak. Complex, youthful and intriguing. As the touches the palate there’s a natural and harmonious feel, fruit flavours reflect the citrus and zest, white fleshed stone fruit core and a touch of tangerine. There’s no mistaking the minerality with chalk-like flavours and a touch of salinity. Acidity and mild oak tannins add mouthfeel and additional complexity. Overall this youthful wine is delciisou, it has a natural, organic wine feel about is and delivers well on flavour and texture. Excellent drinking from 2022 through 2029.
