Bilancia Tiatore Chardonnay 2020, Hawkes Bay

I hope you’ll find the bouquet of this wine as intriguing as I did. Mineral with pure citrus fruit scents, a dense, almost nutty lees quality, orchard fruits and fine oak. Complex and quite delicious on the palate, too – texture then a core of fruit, a fine acid line and layers of fine older barrel. Fine-tannin chalky texture with a flinty, edgy quality. Fresh and delicious to drink now, but will develop more complexity. Overall this wine is new so give it time please to let the oak integrate and calm. Behind this though is the power of ripe fruit and acidity, a fantastic base line structure, long finish and promise.
