Maori Point Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2022, Central Otago

A lovely pure fruited bouquet with a core of white fleshed stone fruits and citrus laced with a stone mineral quality and finesse from lightly toasted oak. A satin mouthfeel as the wine touches the palate, contrasting core fruit flavours of white fleshed stone fruits and lemon, a whisper of gun-flint, apple and blossoms. Acidity carries these flavours throughout the palate as well as adding its own texture and contrast. Oak remains a foundation component, is judiciously used adding breadth and power. A lovely example, youthful, fine and complex. Best drinking from mid to late 2023 through 2027+.
