Black Barn Vineyards Merlot Cabernet 2021, Hawkes Bay

I love the combination of dark red berry fruits laced with toasty smokey wood and barrel spices. Aromas and flavours of roasted plums and blackberry fruits, clove and vanilla, anise and violets. Nice weight and intensity on the palate with with youthful firm tannins and acidity delivering a taut squeeze then relaxes with core ripe red berry fruit and plum flesh and flavours. Delicious for drinking from 2024 through 2030 or sooner with higher protein based fare.
