Coxhead Creek Vineyard Reserve Cabernet Franc 2021, Matakana Coast

A lovely fruit centric bouquet with a varietal core of dark red berry fruits, soft green herbs, olive and sweet tobacco. On the palate a dry wine with a core of black and purple skinned berries, firm tannins and plenty of acidity for foundation and ageing. Spices and wood smoke add depth and complexity. A young wine so cellar time will allow more integration and the style to emerge. Best drinking from 2024 through 2029.
