Church Road 'Tom' Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2019, Hawkes Bay

Complex and new, bold dark aromas of blackberry and baked plum, dark chocolate and toasty barrel with brown spices of clove and nutmeg. There’s an iron-sand scent with baked earth then wood smoke. Full-bodied with ripe, firm tannins and plenty of acidity, flavours of fresh and baked fruits reflect the bouquet, smoky wood, and chocolate. Lengthy, firm, youthful, still developing with tension and pause, a long finish, a wine to invest in. Best drinking form 2026 through 2040+.
