B.wine Chardonnay 2021, Martinborough, Wairarapa
An attractive bouquet with familir Wairarapa scents of crush rocks and silty soil residues then fruit scents of fresh yellow peach and baked apple, there’s an equally familiar mix of barrel spice and fine lees autolysis adding depth, shape and form to the bouquet. Youthful, engaging and with a fine complexity. On the palate - a corase silk texture reflects the natural expression of the fruit and winemaking, oak layers in easily with some vanilla and baked goods moments. The core of fruits are still stone fruit and apple, some grapefruit and other citrus flavours emerge as the wine sits on the palate. Well made, still very young and needing some cellar time. Best drinking from late 2022 through 2028+.
