Black Barn Vineyards Barrel Fermented Chardonnay 2020, Hawkes Bay

Complex and very sophisticated bouquet with aromas of fresh apricot and red apple, peach and lees complexity. There’s a fine layer of wood spices and white smoke. Silk cream texture as the wine engages the palate then contrasting impact from acidity and oak, barrel-fermentation flavours with a toasty leesy complexity and fruit flavours that mirror the nose. Complex and seamless, very youthful, primary and curious. A lovely example, well made and ready for drinking from early 2022 through 2029+.
