Kumeu River Coddington Vineyard Chardonnay 2020, Auckland

Still my favourite expression from the Kumeu River stable of wines. Power and elegance, purity and speaks of site. Lovely fresh fragrances of peach and quince, there's a nutty, lewis road salty dairy fragrance adding breadth and complexity. Fragrant and floral with some barrel spices and nutty lift with a raw cashew nut suggestion. Wonderful texture and mouthfeel, contrasting acid-line accentuating flavours of grapefruit and wood spice, peach and white stone soil complexity. A delicious wine, youthful still and deserves cellar time. Will reward if you have patience. Long finish, salty and fine. Best from 2023/2024 through 2030+.
