Chard Farm Mason Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019, Central Otago

Fragrant, varietal, precise, fruity and enticing bouquet. Aromas of schist soils and dried herbs are contrasted by red berries and sweet red plum. There’s a moderate level of oak suggesting a new wood spices and mild toasty attributes. Lots of youthful tension and firmness as the wine touches the palate - this is soon contrasted by a core of red fruit flavours and barrel. Firm tannins and acidity create the back bone for structure and ageing. Delicious sweet spot mid-palate, lengthy, dry and very fine. A well made wine reflective of site and time, a lovely expression. Best drinking from late 2022 through 2028+.
