Chard Farm Viper Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019, Central Otago

A youthful fragrant bouquet with aromas of cranberry and roses, red apple skin and cherry. There’s a quiet yet noticeable seam of stony almost silty minerality along with a fine toasty oak layer. On the palate - delicious, light-weight fruity and varietal with finely tuned flavours of red berries and apple, some dried herb and savoury mineral layers. Fine tannins with a chalky edge, plenty of acidity and a lengthy finish. A lovely example showcasing the prettier side of Pinot from this region. Best drinking from 2022 through 2027+.
