Craggy Range Le Sol Syrah 2019, Gimblett Gravels, Hawkes Bay

Craggy Range Le Sol.png

A very distinctive bouquet with a concentration of black currant and dark raspberry scents, new barrel with toast and smoke, clove and baked vanilla pod, moments of anise and licorice. Complex and youthful, enticing and spicy. On the palate - a complex wine with flavours of dark berries and spices to mirror the bouquet, dry stony gravels soils, baked clay, dark cherry and smoky black olive flavours. Tannins are youthful yet have a velvet texture about them, the back bone of acidity and gently warming alcohol layer in weight and texture. A delicious wine, still very youthful, but will reward those who can wait. Best drinking from 2023 through 2030.
