Dry River Chardonnay 2019, Martinborough
A complex bouquet of spices and roasted stone fruits, grapefruit peel, baked apple and brown spices of vanilla, clove and a touch of raw sugar. Minerality and a sense of place come through on the palate with a mix of clay and silty dried soil suggestions. Weighty with a satin texture, core of fruit flavours that reflect the bouquet, a youthful acid line and fine tannins. The complexity builds as the wine opens up in glass. Delicious, fresh, youthful and complex. Best drinking from 2022 through 2028+.
