Mount Michael 'Isla' Pinot Noir 2016, Central Otago

Mount Michael Isla Pinot Noir.png

A bouquet of pinosity with aromas of red berries and soft barrel spices, a fine layer of dried herb then stony mineral complexities. On the palate - youthful and primary still with bottle integration beginning to engage. Flavours of red berries and red plum, dried herb then fine toasty wood layers. Fine tannins with a satin polish, medium+ acidity, balanced and well made. A wine that is ready to drink upon purchase, but will also continue to evolve if cellared properly. Best drinking from 2021 through 2024.
