Big Sky Te Muna Road Pinot Noir 2019, Martinborough
Savoury, complex, earthy, floral. Aromas and flavours of strawberry compote and ripe red cherry, brown spices and plum, rose and mild toasty barrel complexities. A lovely core of fruit is surrounded by tension and poise from fruit tannins and acidity, a savoury earthy quality layers in complexity. The oak is simply there for support and foundation, but adds its own layer of texture and complexity as well. Youthful, firm, dry, lengthy, well made and ready to drink upon purchase. I would also recommend time in cellar for further flavour and texture developments.
