Vidal Reserve Syrah 2019, Gimblett Gravels, Hawkes Bay

Aromas of ripe blackened red fruits, raspberry and black cherry, some peppery spice moments and vanilla toasty oak layers. There’s a broody dried earth and baked goods layer adding complexity. Frim, dry, spicy and fruity on the palate with flavours of dark berries, raspberry, barrel spices and some pepper corn. Clove and vanilla, smoky wood and earthy qualities add complexity and length. Firm-ish tannins and medium+ acidity add freshness and texture. Youthful still but drinking nicely today and through 2025+.
