Neck of the Woods Chardonnay 2019, Central Otago

Fine, complex and alluring bouquet with aromas of ripe white fleshed stone fruits, citrus and softly spoken barrel spices. There’s a layer of minerality within the bouquet suggesting crushed wet rock. On the palate - tense, youthful, fresh, fruity and varietal. Flavours of peach and apple, lemon and grapefruit, some quince then vanilla custard and mild toasty wood flavours. Textures from fine wood tannins and acidity along with medium alcohol form a strong foundation for the core of fruit and flavours to float upon. Lovely drinking today. Ideal drinking from late 2021 through 2026+.
