Elephant Hill Pinot Gris 2019, Hawkes Bay

Bold and very expressive bouquet, pure ripe, a fruit core surrounded by a stony mineral and toasty spice layer. White peach and lemon, baked apple and white pepper, sea spray and a touch of oyster shell. Satin textured as the wine touches the palate with fruit spice, warming alcohol and a core of fruit delivering weight and intensity as well as flavour. A lovely long persistent finish with a lees and a moment of ginger spice. Perfectly balanced and ready for summer drinking from 2022 through 2026.
