Villa Maria Reserve Chardonnay 2017, Hawkes Bay

Developing, very complex and enticing with aromas of baked cashew nut and ripe peach, apple and baking spices, a touch of butterscotch and toasty bottle-development scents. Full-bodied, spicy, texture, fruity and delicious on the palate. Flavours mirror the bouquet with more intensity on the palate showcasing wood spice and butterscotch, vanilla and baked custard, some toasty barrel and stony mineral layers. Lengthy dry finish, balanced, well made and ready with texture and a great mouthfeel. A wine that is delicious now, but will continue to reward through to 2026+ if cellared well.
