Greystone Thomas Brothers Pinot Noir 2018, Waipara Valley, North Canterbury

thomasbrotherspinot.png

A complex and sophisticated bouquet with aroma combinations of red berries and baking spices, roses and leesy autolysis, sweet smoke and toasty wood with a core of pinosity. On the palate - a statement for sure - with flavours of oak and smoke, red fruits and dark spices, a sweet spot mid-palate with mineral and toasty oak. Ripe tannins - firm chalky textures, contrasting medium+ acidity and a lengthy finish. A young wine needing some cellar time to fully harmonise flavours with textures. Best drinking late 2021 through 2026+.
