Vavasour Papa Sauvignon Blanc 2018, Awatere Valley, Marlborough

Very attractive bouquet with a soft dried herb and fruit centric beginning. Aromas of sage and dried basil, grapefruit and pear then some quiet tropical fruit suggestions. On the palate - satin textures and vibrant young acidity lead to flavours of apple and citrus, peach and spice. Possibly some older barrel use. A lovely wine with weight and power, a core of fruity, varietal and tasty. Lengthy finish, balanced and well made. Best drinking from today and through 2022.
