Paritua Syrah 2018, Hawkes Bay

A fantastic bouquet of Syrah with intense, spicy, fruity, meaty and savoury aromas. Complex and very engaging. On the palate - a youthful and very expressive wine with a core of dark red berries, baked raspberry and plum, some darker baking spices and dry rock mineral layer. There’s a violet note which adds a refreshing fragrance before the new wood flavours, tannins and acidity kick in. Tannins are moderate in intensity and fine in structure, acidity links all the flavours together while the oak underpins the foundation structure. A classic pepper note is equal to a sweet olive one. An excellent wine - happy in your cellar or alongside a high protein dish with lots of green veges. Best drinking from 2021 through 2026.
