Chard Farm Mata-Au Pinot Noir 2018, Central Otago
An enticing bouquet of Pinot Noir with aromas of red flowers and cherry, plum and raspberry tea. The baking spices of oak begin to emerge after a few minutes in glass - fine clove and vanilla wrapped in a light smoky oak frame. Overall - nicely complex and balanced. On the palate - dry with fine tannins, fruity with red berry and plum, mild savoury complexity with dried herb and baking spices. Balanced and well made, youthful, tense and poised. A lovely wine with best drinking from today and through 2025.
