Matavino Amelia Viognier 2019, Matakana
Floral and fruity with a distinctive perfume of white roses, white and yellow apricot, some peach and apple scents then a whisper of tropical fruit suggesting mango. Because there’s some use of Sauvignon Blanc in the final blend I can also sense aromas of sweet herbs and gooseberry. On the palate - warm, fleshy, fruity, varietal and dry. Flavours of all the fruits described reappear on the palate. Warm alcohol and medium acidity combine to offer contrast and balance. Well made with a decent finish. Best drinking from today and through 2023.
