Ake Ake Organic Chambourcin 2018, Northland

Ake Ake Cham.jpg

Plush, ripe, very fruity with aromas of boysenberries and plums, dark cherries and fruit compote then oak with clove and toasty wood layers. On the palate - firm, dry, fruity and tense with firm tannins and salivating acidity. The core of fruit is persistent with flavours that reflect the nose and carry the wine through a lengthy finish. Well made, a great example of Chambourcin. A good decent alternative to Merlot or Syrah. Best drinking from today and through 2023.
