Clark Estate Clericus Wild Pinot Noir 2017, Marlborough

Clark Estate PN17.jpg

A bouquet of pinosity with aromas of dark cherry and plum, black tea, brown spices, smoky wood and an inviting layered complexity. On the palate - tense, firm, youthful, varietal and dry. Still developing and on its pathway to complete harmony. Flavours of dark berries and cherry, firm tannins and medium+ acidity. There’s a dried herb and newer oak tension and flavour trumping the core of fruit - these attributes will swap around over time, but in the meantime food is recommended - a simple wholewheat pasta dish with earthy flavours suggested. Best drinking from mid 2021 through 2025.
