Johner Estate Reserve Pinot Noir 2016, Gladstone, Wairarapa

Attractive and alluring bouquet with aromas of vanilla and clove dusted red berry fruits, a silty soil core, some toasty barrel scents and rose. On the palate - firm, youthful, tense, poised, fruity and dry. I really like the texture of this wine with chalky tannins and medium+ (ish) acidity, flavours reflect the nose. There’s also a lovely harmonious feel throughout the palate from texture to fruit to oak. Balanced and well made, fine and savoury, loaded with pinosity. Best drinking from today and through 2023.
