Te Kano 'Kin' Pinot Noir 2018, Central Otago

kimpinot.png

Floral, mineral and fruity. Dried herbs and wild thyme, fresh and preserved cherry, roses and stony mineral complexity. Tense, dry and youthful on the palate. Firm tannins with a dried herb layer first suggest a wine that requires additional cellar time to relax and allow the fruit core to showcase more. Fruit flavours of plum and cherry then rose and baking spices do emerge as the tannins settle on the palate and wine begins to open up. Well made, just needs time. Best drinking from 2022 through 2028. If you can’t wait - be sure to enjoy with higher protein dishes.
