Vavasour Chardonnay 2018 Awatere Valley, Marlborough

Ripe, full bouquet of aromas with suggestions of citrus flesh and peel, some tropical fruit moments, some warm yellow stone fruits, and wood spice.  Dry, weighty, varietal and creamy in texture. Flavours from the nose repeat on the palate, medium acidity, some fine wood tannins and baking spice flavours, a nutty almost popcorn brown spice combination. Balanced and well made with a gentle core of richness, plenty of weight and length and flavours that continue for some time. A lovely wine with best drinking from today and through 2023. 91 Points
