Brick Bay Petit Verdot 2016 Matakana

Intense, dark fruited, ripe and bold bouquet. No mistaking the oak yet the core of fruit and dark spices punch through. Dry wine on the palate with flavours of oak and dark berry fruits, sweet clove, vanilla, some brown sugar and toasted wood. Firm youthful yet ripe tannins, medium+ acidity, a core of fruit and lengthy finish. Balanced and well made. Drink now and through 2026. A great food wine option from beef with a sauce molé or Devils chocolate cake and clotted cream.
