Brick Bay Chardonnay 2018 Matakana, Auckland

A really lovely bouquet of Chardonnay - aromas of pear, apple and citrus, a leesy complex layer accentuated by layers of French oak and a light nutty cashew-like layer. Dry on the palate with a soft creamy texture with a silky polish. Medium+ weight with medium+ acidity. As the wine begins to relax in glass the flavours of wood spice and oak begin to develop with a mild toastiness overlay. The synergies of cellar time begin to reveal themselves as well. Overall quite a complex wine with a lovely texture and finish. Balanced and well made. Drink now and through 2024.
